Whilst our Nimbus goes very nicely as demonstrated during a thorough test ride around Guildford a couple of weeks ago, its looks leave a lot to be desired.
The current non-standard paint job is hand applied crimson and cream without the benefit of preparing the surface beneath, the plating is tarnished or gone, rubber parts are very perished and the engine appearance could do with a refresh.
So the bike has now been stripped. Frame and tank will be off to sandblasting this week and will then get a real Nimbus paint job (light green frame and tank upper, with the lower half of the tank silver. Gold and silver pinstripes will also be applied to the top of the tank and the fenders). Wheels will go to Hagon for sandblasting and then black rims and hubs with new stainless spokes. All plating will head to Silvabronz to be renewed. Engine will be cleaned up in house and we will endeavour to source new rubber parts from suppliers in Denmark.
Hope to have the whole project done well before Christmas.
