1975 Triumph Trident

In November 1974 the T150 Trident was replaced by the T160. The spec of the new model included:

  • Electric start

  • 5 speed gearbox

  • Left foot gear shift

  • Front and rear disc brakes

  • And a more traditional flowing Triumph stylin

This put the Trident into the same league as its Japanese competitors. Some 7,200 T160s were built and sold prior to the financial collapse of the manufacturer, by then known as Norton-Villiers-Triumph, in early 1976. So despite the prowess of the T160 it came too late to save NVT.

With 58bhp and a 120mph top speed the T160 is one of the best classic bike rides.

This machine was built in April 1975 and was first registered in December 1976. It has matching frame and engine numbers. It has had a complete rebuild and is today a great, clean and well running machine. The yellow and white paint is faithful to the original, engine covers are polished and cooling fins are clean, chrome on the fenders and exhausts is perfect, the trim is complete, the saddle is good, it has electronic ignition and the battery and tyres are new. It has done 3,232 miles.

The MOT is valid till 29 May 2015 and it is taxed to August 2015.
